About this directory
lawyersincayman.com lists every lawyer licensed to practise in the Cayman Islands — Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman — together with the firms they practise at and the work they do. It currently covers 1,173 lawyers across 88 firms.
Where the data comes from
The spine of the directory is the set of public registers published by the Cayman Islands Judicial Administration under the Legal Services Act, 2020:
- The Roll of Attorneys — who is licensed, at which firm, with what qualification.
- Law firms and recognised bodies
- Notaries Public and Justices of the Peace
Those registers are re-read automatically. A lawyer who comes off the roll is not deleted — their profile stays, marked clearly as no longer licensed, because that is itself worth knowing.
What we add
The register carries no photographs, biographies or contact details, and records a practice area for only about a quarter of entries. We add those from firms’ own websites and from lawyers who claim their profile. Every profile shows where each fact came from, and a profile confirmed by the lawyer themselves is labelled as such.
Where we are careful
The registers are maintained by hand and contain occasional contradictions — the same licence number issued to two different people, or a surname spelled two ways. Where a record is ambiguous we keep both entries separate and flag it for review rather than merging two people into one profile or attaching a commission to the wrong person.
This directory is informational. It is not legal advice, and listing an attorney is not a recommendation. Always confirm anything that matters directly against the official roll.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. If the error is on the official roll itself, the Clerk of Court is the right place to raise it: clerkofcourt@judicial.ky.
