Lloyd Lionel Barker

Lloyd is an associate of Maples and Calder’s Finance team in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. Lloyd advises on structured finance, including collateralised loan obligations, fund finance transactions, asset finance and general corporate matters. His work primarily supports clients across global financial markets, with a particular emphasis on cross-border transactions. He brings a practical and commercially focused approach, backed by several years of experience advising asset managers, financial institutions and private equity sponsors.

Lloyd joined the Maples Group in 2025. Prior to joining, he worked at another international law firm in the Cayman Islands, where he gained significant experience advising on a wide range of finance transactions, with a focus on structured finance, fund finance and general corporate matters.

Lloyd is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association (CILPA) and is actively involved in a range of civic and nonprofit initiatives. He is the founder of Pursuit of Excellence – The Lloyd Barker Foundation, focusing on youth empowerment and social drives for community development.
